On December 1st, an impressive list of celebrities and community leaders joined the Matthew Shepard Foundation to honor the creators of "The Laramie Project" - Moises Kaufman and the members of the Tectonic Theater Project. Marking what would have been Matthew's 30th birthday, the evening consisted of an abridged reading of the groundbreaking play and featured statements from Judy Shepard and host Tipper Gore, special performances by Cyndi Lauper and a powerful acceptance speech by Moises Kaufman upon receiving the Foundation's "Making a Difference" Award.
