Women With a Cause Gala

Women With A Cause, WE Initiative, provides economic development programs that will focus on education and skills training for women which will enable them to be lifted out of poverty and lead them to self-sufficiency while earning a sustainable income, here in Denver!

All types of performances to be showcased at the gala event

T Strickland is a singer/songwriter originally from North Carolina who has performed at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville as well as Blues on Clark in Chicago. Her music is available on iTunes.  T chose to “Play It Forward” for the Matthew Shepard Foundation because she believes strongly in the message of the Foundation.  The message of tolerance goes beyond LGBT issues, towards solving a multitude of society’s problems.

Women With A Cause Foundation launches Play It Forward, an event to promote economic development for women.  This virtual and live event happening Friday February 18th  6pm at the Seawell Ballroom, is touted as Denver’s premier talent show featuring dance, comedy, music and other performing arts.  Its goal is to raise money for select homeless mothers and women veterans to attend nursing school at local universities.

The top acts selected by the community and the WWAC judges will perform on Friday, February 18th at the Denver Center for Performing Arts in the Seawell Ballroom.

Celebrity judges, such as Jake Schroeder, Maggie Rosewell, Kirk Montgomery, Wende Curtis and Barry Fey, combined with audience participation, will choose the top three entertainers. Winners will receive cash prizes for their favorite charity or scholarship.  First prize is $3,000, second prize is $1,500 and third prize is $500. Attendees will also enjoy international cuisine from Colorado’s top chefs while honoring nonprofit Unsung Heroines. The show promises to entertain and inspire you!
